What Is Yin House Feng Shui

In popular culture, many people are vaguely familiar with the Yin-Yang Symbol and some of its attributes, such as the yin darker side of the symbol relating to the feminine principle and the yang lighter side of the symbol relating to the masculine principle.

In virtually all schools of Feng Shui, there is exploration into the many manifestations of yin and yang aspects to our lives and surroundings. All of Chinese metaphysics and Chinese medicine relate to Yin-Yang Theory uniquely, with a lot of overlapping observations and conclusions.

Within the field of Feng Shui, we can label spaces that are dark, damp, quiet, cold and still as yin. We can also make a comparison of yang attributes to spaces that are bright, dry, noisy and hot. And one of the goals in balancing an environment is to make sure the spaces are not excessively yin or yang.

It might be a logical deduction that a -yin house- is a house that has excessive yin traits. And yet, the name -Yin House- refers specifically to a branch of Feng Shui that deals exclusively with the most yin environment of all: grave sites. This is just as ancient a practice in the area of Feng Shui as -Yang House- which deals with spaces for the living.

Yin House has its own set of rules and guidelines for diagnosing a grave site, and a practitioner cannot even begin to understand the implications of a grave site (on up to three generations of descendants) unless they have a working knowledge of classical Feng Shui. This includes Xuan Kong and Form School at the very least.

Based on the orientation of the grave and when the body is placed there, a Yin House is created that can affect the health, well-being, and fortunes of children, grand children and great-grandchildren of the deceased. The energy transmission will go from parent to child and not from sibling to sibling or spouse to spouse. Of course, your spouse’s yin house will affect children that you mutually share so there can be an indirect influence.

Yin House Theory maintains that the ground below can act as a conduit for energy to be passed, through the bones of the deceased, from the grave site to their living relatives. But many of the principles for what constitutes a good yin house are not necessarily obvious or known without training. For example, a grave site is about as yin as you can get, death resides there. One might think that it is a lovely choice to have a plot under a shady tree in the cemetery. And yet, that would only make the grave site even more yin.

The goal is to bring a little more yang energy to the area, so a plot right out in the open space, receiving plenty of light is actually the better choice. Those kinds of principles are easy to grasp and plan for. What is not so easy is planning for the time when a person will actually -move in- to their yin house. Just like Yang House, using the Xuan Kong methodology where houses are created within 20 Year eras, you can plan to occupy a plot in a certain direction and in a certain time frame, but unless one knows what year they will die, there could be some problems in long range planning.

In many cultures, whole families will be laid to rest in one big family plot. In this case, the choices are greatly diminished as the orientation is mostly fixed. For example, grand pa could have been laid to rest in 1974 (Period 6), while dad was laid to rest along side in 2004 (Period 8) and space left for the next generation, without knowing what Period it will end up being. These time frames alone can make the difference between a good yin house and a bad yin house and how it may effect future generations. Obviously, the study and observation of this branch of Feng Shui spans over many decades, compared to the Yang House feedback which can be immediate.

Yin House has many aspects to consider including the larger environment of the cemetery, the road courses within the cemetery, the land quality and land levels, nearby natural features such as mountains or water, the orientation of the plot, and even whether the head stone is placed flat on the ground or positioned upward, perpendicular to the ground. The birth year of the person to be laid to rest is also factored into the calculation for the best possible grave site and no doubt this type of service is requested with very little advance notice some of the time. As well, questions inevitably come up regarding cremation and whether or not there is any influence from ashes, be they buried, stored or dispersed.

Classroom Decorating Ideas – 5 Tips For Budget-savvy Schools

Just when you think you understand how your child’s school operates within its district’s budget, power changes hands, funds are found and then re-designated, and new expenses appear. Keeping up with the financial flow can feel like a full-time job (dedicated PTA members, we salute you). Most schools experience the same strain we do when it comes to balancing the books between educational spending, the wear-and-tear on campus facilities, and a dwindling supply of, well, supplies.

Kids might be blissfully unaware of fiscal situations, but their need for colorful, interactive environments never changes. Making sure your kids spend most of their early learning days in an intellectually balanced setting can cement creative learning abilities that lead to invaluable skills in the future. As the school year continues and the budget dwindles, the nuances of a good education truly become a community-wide responsibility. Parents, teachers, and student supporters can help by supplying bright ideas to help local schools produce aesthetic, engaging classrooms for less. Here are five ideas to inspire your own:

1. At the beginning of each semester, teachers could hold classroom decorating parties and allow parents to bring items from home that are appropriate to use as classroom dcor. For example, one parent could supply a thick beanbag to create a cozy reading nook, while another could contribute a seldom-used lamp.

2. Never underestimate the power of an inanimate classroom mascot. Suggest that your child’s teacher ask the class to bring one or two decorative items from home that can be easily applied to the wall. Once the pile of materials is big enough, he or she can use the items to design a mural-sized dragon, horse, or other animal the class votes to create. Older children can help with the application process and may want to dream up their own whimsical creature.

3. Students can collect art supplies during a weekly nature walk in order to create curriculum-inspired decorations for multiple holidays throughout the year. If the class is studying the Pilgrims, they could create a harvest table set with the natural materials the original Pilgrims would’ve had access to. Besides, who doesn’t need to know how to make a stick fork and leaf placemats?

4. A decoration-trading program between classrooms for similar age groups can save the school money by eliminating the need to buy multiple kits. If the decoration requires constant updating, each participating teacher could start the accompanying lesson earlier or later so the decorations spend less time in storage.

5. If they must spend money, push the powers-that-be to purchase classroom decorations that are sturdy and can be easily repurposed. Paint and construction paper cutouts only last so long and require constant upkeep, which is something stretched schools simply don’t have.

One of the many benefits of multifunctional decorations is the potential for reinvigorating spaces over and over again. A renewable environment can do wonders for kids and teachers, and your child’s school administrators would probably support free feng shui if it enhances the students’ day-to-day experiences.

How to Feng Shui your Bedroom – 5 Basic Feng Shui Bedroom Tips

When someone starts to feng shui their home, there are some areas that you might need help in figuring out where to start. The process that I underwent to feng shui my home would have been a lost cause had I not had some wonderful assistance. But my favorite room to feng shui was my bedroom. My bedroom is a comfortable place that I love. I love my bed and the way it looks in my room and I truly love the peace I get when I go into my room to sleep. There are some feng shui bedroom tips that I will share with you so that you can speed along the process of calming your life. There are five main feng shui bedroom tips that I feel to be very important. One that is important is lighting. The lighting that is present in your bedroom is really important with feng shui. If you have really bright lights or hideous light fixtures, that can kill your feng shui efforts. Different levels of lighting are one of the feng shui bedroom tips that I feel is very important. To be able to dim your lights helps to create a warm atmosphere that brings a calming effect and will make your room seem very inviting.

Something else I would like to point out in my feng shui bedroom tips is that you should do away with big things like workout equipment, televisions and even computers. These are things that are big, bulky and don’t signal peace. By having these in your bedroom you are chasing away the ability to have a feng shui bedroom. It might be hard to do but trust me, this is a part of the feng shui bedroom tips that will bring about surprising results. You might be thinking that you fall asleep watching television and so it has to stay. But by falling asleep with a television, you are nodding off with those last images on your brain. You won’t be able to let your body rest in the way that it needs to if you do that.

A part of the feng shui bedroom tips that will make a huge effect is to think about the pictures that you hang on your wall. When you pick out something to hang on your bedroom wall, it should be something that you hope to do one day or of something really great that you already did. If there was a special trip that you went on that you never want to forget, pictures of that would be good to hang. Keep in mind that you should never hang pictures that make you sad. Remember as one of my feng shui bedroom tips, feng shui is to help create a happy and positive atmosphere. Do what you need to so that negative feelings won’t be in your space.

Bed placement is something that you might not think about as one of the feng shui bedroom tips but it’s something that you should think about. If you just toss your bed anywhere in your room, odds are that it’s not going to flow well. Placing your bed so that one side is up against a wall is not good with feng shui. You want to be able to easily access both sides of your bed. That is part of being able to feng shui your bedroom.

The last tip that I want to give you with my feng shui bedroom tips is to shut up all your doors before climbing into bed. If you leave the doors open you are allowing your positive energy to have too much room. Leaving the doors closed will keep all of your positive energy near you as you sleep at night.

Eft For Dyslexia Part 1

Word blindness – Dyslexia – is a developmental state that interferes with the acquisition of written language. Dyslexics also show distinct brain differences to those who do not have Word blindness. EFT can be very useful in the management of Dyslexia.

Tricia (not her real name), arrived with Dyslexia, which was interfering with her full enjoyment of life and had been ever since she could remember – in class, during her work and in the family. Tricia wa ready to try anything – including EFT!

Word blindness affects both reading and processing, so we decided on a course of EFT sessions, each dealing with different aspects of the condition. This article, Part 1, and the next one, Part 2, are shortened descriptions of the way we approached Tricia’s Dyslexia.

Tricia selected some events she recalled from school, in Maths and English classes.

We have all been there in the maths class: marks are gained from the working out, rather than ending up with the right answer. The sequencing of the working out is a real challenge for people with word blindness, who are likely to know the answer instinctively and, since the working out is intuitive, they dont really realize how they got there. Although teachers understand about Dyslexia being about reading, they don’t understand the intuitive leap portion of it. Children become more and more anxious the more they experience these situations they cannot explain to their teachers.

The first part of the session, therefore, dealt with the difficulty of breaking the process up into steps and the teachers attitude to her difficulty:

Even though miss said Tricia, youre making this too complicated and I have to agree with her because even one step is too complicated!

The maths teacher had apparently been quite sympathetic to Tricias difficulties, unlike the English teacher, who had been, from Tricias point of view, thoroughly unpleasant.

Even though sir took my work, screwed it up into a ball and threw it across the room .

Even though that English descriptive piece was not complicated enough for sir

The dyslexic intuitive jump can be really fantastically helpful in adult life – who would not aspire to tally their cheque book so easily? Tricia had by now begun to understand how much she appreciated and relied on her subliminal dyslexic talents, so we did some thankfulness tapping:

Even though my teachers didnt understand my intuitive leaps – and neither did I I do now

I really appreciate my subconscious for doing all the work for me

Im so grateful that my subconscious is so clever

When I asked Tricia to tell me in what order she put her clothes on in the morning (a sequence generally difficult for dyslexics, she was able to do so easily).

She explained to me soon after that, not only was she able to work out the steps involved in quite complex activities, but also as a side product, her bond with her brother had improved dramatically.

Sarah Palin’s Astrology Chart

Alaskan governor Sarah Palin has attracted more than her share of attention as the Republican Presidential candidate in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election. Unfortunately, she has invited criticism for most things she has done. Perhaps this is because of some unfortunate planetary influences in her astrological chart currently going on in the sky.

Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on February 11th, 1964. Palin’s astrological chart reveals that she is an influential individual, whether that influence is for better or worse. Her youthful appearance is the result of being a forward thinking Aquarius and her Leo rising gives her a lot of charisma. The television cameras can’t seem to take their lenses off her.

Sarah Palin’s flakiness in public, which has made her the butt of many jokes on late night television, is also the result of having a lot of planets in Aquarius. Still, despite Palin’s perceived shallowness, Aquarians are not usually tyrants. They are usually bright, sophisticated thinkers that have a vision even if they are not. They can make great leaders.

So why is Sarah Palin, who has so many natural positives to her character insist, being involved some questionable situations?

Well, for one, Palin may be choosing the wrong time to run for major office. Neptune in retrograde, and also about to go forward, along with square Mars (in early November 2008) is a very troubled planetary position that is going to affect people in general. Sarah has Neptune square her natal sun, which causes big trouble. Normally, Palin would just rise effortless to the top, but luck is not on her side. When Neptune is afflicted, it means that the person becomes foggy, lost, and unable to connect with others. It actually causes the person to be viewed unfairly, as Neptune is a planet of distortion.

Like all famous people, Sarah Palin has a stellium in her astrological chart and this one just happens to be in that seventh house of her chart. Palin has both Saturn and Mars in the seventh house, which means that people will always be somewhat hostile in the way people perceive her. Saturn is a planet that symbolizes criticism and Mars is a warrior energy that can even be violent.

At the time of her Vice Presidential nomination, the planet Neptune was actually transiting over her natal Neptune, which would be a once in a lifetime happening since Neptune is such as slow planet. This planetary position simply translates to mean “I can’t win no matter what I do.That is also what might happen to Sarah Palin as she attempts to become Vice President of the United States. If Neptune were not crossing over the stallion of planets in her seventh house (which is the house of public opinion), she might not be the target of so much derision and be taken seriously in the press.

Even though she is a former beauty queen and seems soft on television, she has a moon in Capricorn, which makes her a fierce yet fair ruler. Unfortunately, with the planets not on her side, her political quest might not come to fruition. Perhaps the main reason she rose to political prominence in the first place is because she has Jupiter in the ninth house, which, for most of her career, had her in the right place at the right time.

We’ll find out on November 4th if the planets are in her favor in her quest with John McCain for the White House.
